Modes are preset profiles set by Samsung for common activities like sleeping or driving, while Routines offer more granular control over the device for specific situations and can be adjusted based on your own needs.
Make it a habit to enable location sharing for Google Maps
Here's how to set up a new routine that automatically turns on location for Google Maps. Go to Settings > Modes and Routines and tap the Routines tab at the bottom.
Here, tap on the plus (+) icon. This will open the settings page.
Here, tap on Add what will trigger this routine . On the next page, scroll down to find and tap on App opened under the "Event" heading. Next, select Google Maps from the list of apps and tap on Done .
Tip : You can choose other apps besides Google Maps that need location data, such as food delivery apps or ride-hailing apps.
This will take you back to the settings page. Here, tap Add what this routine will do and go to the Location menu.
Next, tap Location and check the option next to “On” and tap Done . Tap Save on the settings page to complete the process.
On the next page, choose a name, icon, and icon color for this habit and tap Done to confirm.
Your routine is now saved and activated. Go ahead and open Google Maps on your phone to see if it works.
