If you're familiar with how to use Discord, you probably already know how to share your screen on a PC or laptop. The process is similar on the phone. Make sure you have the latest version of Discord installed before screen sharing on a mobile device. Some other apps like Netflix and Spotify turn off screen sharing to prevent piracy or multiple users of free apps.

If you're having screen sharing issues, make sure you're not using one of those disabled apps. In addition, if the server owner or administrator does not allow screen sharing to others, you need to get their permission to do so before you can show the mobile screen to others.

There are two methods of screen sharing depending on the type of call.

To join an ongoing call, share the smartphone screen as follows:

Join a voice chat channel.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Tap Screen Share .

Tap Start Now .

To share the screen on a video call:

Join a video call.

If this option is available, click Screen Share . If you don't see that option, swipe up to see it.

Click Start Now .

Discord will display a notification about screen sharing before allowing you to do so. Once confirmed, you'll see a countdown timer for 3 seconds before the screen is actually shared with others.

Since Discord is designed for gamers to interact with each other, screen sharing on mobile comes in handy when you need help or want others to see your progress while gaming.

The addition of screen sharing also helps Discord compete with other video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Slack, etc.
