Sharing your YouTube channel link is about to get a whole lot easier thanks to a new feature. In a press release today, YouTube has unexpectedly introduced a simple and convenient QR code generator built into the platform, allowing users to quickly share their YouTube channel with friends, family members or the community simply by scanning the extremely popular QR code.
In an official announcement, YouTube stated: "The ability to generate channel QR codes is now rolling out to the entire YouTube creator community worldwide. We hope this update makes it easier for you to share your channel with anyone who wants to enjoy your content."
The best thing about this feature is that the extracted QR code can be shared across a variety of services, including popular social media platforms, messaging apps, or even printed out. When someone scans the QR code, they will be directed to the respective YouTube channel.
If you own a YouTube channel and want to extract the QR code linking to your channel, just follow the steps below:
1. Open the YouTube app on your Android or iOS device.
2. Tap the “You” tab on the bottom bar, which usually has your YouTube channel profile picture.
3. Tap on the item below your username that says “ Share channel ” .
4. Select “ QR code ” from the list of options that appears.
5. A QR code for your channel will appear on the screen.
You will be taken to a new page that not only shows the QR code for your YouTube channel, but also the channel name and username. The channel logo will appear in the middle of the QR code and you can also save the QR code to your library.
Alternatively, you can take a screenshot of the QR code. Save it to your device's photo library for easy sharing or open it for others to scan. If you want to access someone else's channel's QR code, go to the 3-dot menu on the channel's homepage > Share > QR Code.
