Stop downloading apps on Google Play Store
There are many apps in the Google Play Store (and other app stores) that deliberately pretend to be popular apps. Just type the search keyword on CH Play and you will see lots of duplicates. If you accidentally touch one of them, you can stop the download immediately by pressing the X button next to the progress bar.
Amazon AppStore has the same option but the progress bar and X button are much smaller. Therefore, it may take several times for you to press the cancel download button.
Stop downloading from the application
When you start downloading data from an application like a mobile browser or messaging app, canceling the download is a bit more complicated. In difficult situations, you can turn off Wi-Fi or put the phone in airplane mode, even power off the phone. You can download a third-party file manager if you want better options to stop downloading.
Block the download of data from the application
If you often download apps on Android accidentally, you should limit downloading some or all of the apps.
- Open Settings .
- Go to Apps & notifications> Advanced> Special app access> Install unknown apps .
- By default, this option is turned off for the entire application. Scan the entire application to make sure all are Not allowed .
- To stop downloading files, go to Settings> Apps & notifications and tap the name of the app in the list.
- Then tap Permissions and turn off Storage .
Delete applications and downloaded files
Finally, if you accidentally download an unwanted application or file, you can easily delete it.
