CES 2025 is just a few weeks away, and as usual, we can expect manufacturers to show off devices that are interesting in a variety of ways: useful, unique, and downright weird. Some of these products will never even make it to store shelves, but all of them will add to the colorful tech landscape.
One such device from Lenovo has just leaked, giving us a look at the world's first laptop with a flexible rollable display.
According to a leak from renowned tech leaker Evan Blass, Lenovo’s first rollable laptop will be called the ThinkBook Plus. It’s essentially a regular-looking laptop when folded and inactive. The real highlight comes when the device is in operation, with the panel extending upwards to become a large screen that’s almost twice as large in portrait orientation.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a laptop with a rollable display. In fact, Lenovo first showed off a concept of one back in early 2023, and the latest leaked image looks a lot like it. Now, two years later, Lenovo is ready to bring a foldable laptop to market.
There is no information about the price yet, but we can hardly expect it to be affordable. In addition, information about the specifications, battery life, size, or how the roll-up panel works are still unknown. We will hear official information about this laptop model at CES 2025 in a few weeks.
In related news, Lenovo is preparing to announce the next generation of its dual-screen laptop, the Yoga Book 9i. The device looks like a traditional laptop with a 360-degree hinge, but instead of a keyboard, it has a second screen. You'll be able to magnetically place the keyboard on top for a more traditional laptop experience, with the secondary screen above or below the keyboard.
