Meaning of the ending of Dragon Ball Daima

Dragon Ball Daima has come to an end. As the last Dragon Ball series to feature Akira Toriyama, this anime is truly special for all Dragon Ball fans. And to be honest, it ended in a pretty Toriyama-like way. The final episode began airing in Japan at 11:40 p.m. local time, ending just after midnight — exactly one year after Toriyama passed away. Coincidence or not, that makes Dragon Ball Daima all the more meaningful.

Meaning of the ending of Dragon Ball Daima

The Dragon Ball Daima finale was visually stunning, gave the audience a few surprises, and set up a possible sequel. While many were expecting Goku or even Gogeta to defeat Gomah, things took a different turn. Let's analyze the meaning of the Dragon Ball Daima ending !

Things to know about the ending of Dragon Ball Daima

The Final Battle Against King Gomah

When Gomah wears the Evil Third Eye, he can unlock his incredibly powerful Super Jumbo form. While Goku, Piccolo, and Vegeta were children, they were no match for Gomah's power—even when Vegeta transformed into SSJ3 and Goku transformed into SSJ4.

By the time Glorio finally asks Shenron to turn them back into adults, they are tired and unable to fight at their full power. As they take turns, it is time for adult Vegeta SSJ3 to try and defeat Gomah, but they all soon realize that Vegeta will not last long.

Dr. Arinsu asks Majin Kuu to bring a book with information about the Evil Third Eye. She knows that the eye can be removed by hitting the user three times in the back of the head and reports this to Goku & Piccolo. So Goku decides to fight Gomah to buy time as Piccolo prepares to attack him from behind using that method.

The final battle between SSJ4 Goku and Gomah is incredibly impressive. At one point Goku hits Gomah with a powerful Kamehameha, opening a huge hole in the demon's stomach. This creates the perfect distraction, allowing Piccolo to strike Gomah in the neck. However, after the second strike, Gomah is able to push Piccolo back and seems to be about to become even more powerful.

Who really defeated King Gomah?

Meaning of the ending of Dragon Ball Daima

Gomah defeats Piccolo, then begins his attack, causing a ruckus in the Demon Realm. In the midst of the chaos, Majin Kuu accidentally appears right behind him, carrying the giant book he brought to Dr. Arinsu.

At this point, he took advantage of the situation to quickly hit Gomah three times in the back of the head. The Devil's third eye then popped out of Gomah's forehead. The group quickly tied him up and destroyed the eye. That was it. There was no fusion or anything like that, just Majin Kuu just happened to be in the right place at the right time. A true hero.

The New King of the Demon World

After Gomah's defeat, Marba trapped him and Degesu in a jar. The Demon Realm had just lost its king, but was about to have a new king. As soon as everyone realized that Majin Kuu had defeated the previous king, he proclaimed himself the new Supreme Demon King. Dr. Arinsu was now the "Deputy Supreme Demon King" and Neva, Marba, Majin Duu, Glorio, King Kadan were all appointed as ministers.

Neva invites Dende to live in the Demon Realm. Although he declines the offer, he says he will inform the wandering Namekians about this, so they can come to the Demon Realm if they wish. It is time for the Dragon Team to finally return home.

What about Super Saiyan 4 in Daima?

In the episode, Goku gives a brief explanation of his SSJ4 transformation, when asked by Vegeta (who calls his SSJ3 form "Ultra Vegeta #1"). Goku replies that he trained a lot after the Buu Saga, since Buu was so strong, but he doesn't know if it's effective. Vegeta says that it looks like " a bargain sale Super Saiyan ", but nothing explains why he didn't use it in Dragon Ball Super.

Is there a sequel to Dragon Ball Daima?

On their journey back to Earth, Goku asks Glorio to stop by the shop they visited in Episode 4, where they bought the Medi Bugs. There, they find two more versions of Evil Third Eye for sale, setting the stage for either Part 2 or a whole new Daima series, but nothing more specific is announced.
