MediaTek has officially confirmed that the Dimensity 9400+ processor will be launched on April 11. This is a minor upgrade from last year's Dimensity 9400, and is also shaping up to be a flagship chip. However, the real and most anticipated change will only appear in the Dimensity 9500. Here are the details of the leaked specifications of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, compiled from reliable sources:
Dimensity 9500 Specifications
According to a source from Digital Chat Station, the Dimensity 9500 will be manufactured on TSMC's N3P process and feature an "all-big-core" ARM CPU design.
The core configuration is said to include one Travis core, three Alto cores, and four Gelas cores, while the GPU is confirmed to be Immortalis Drage.

According to the leak, Travis and Alto are part of ARM's upcoming X9 generation and support Scalable Matrix Extension (SME) - a technology that improves multi-threaded performance. Meanwhile, Gelas is said to be a core from ARM's next-generation A7 series. Based on the leak, the Dimensity 9500 will feature a 1+3+4 CPU architecture with:
- x Cortex-X930 (Travis core) – maximum clock speed >4GHz 56.
- 3x Cortex-X930 (Alto cores) – lower clocked version 17.
- 4x Cortex-A730 (Gelas cores) – part of the new A7 generation of ARM 12.
- Supports Scalable Matrix Extension (SME) for increased multi-threaded performance
- GPU: Immortalis Drage (specifications unknown)
This is a change from the previous leak that suggested a 2+6 CPU architecture for the Dimensity 9500 with two Travis cores and six Gelas cores. However, those were just “initial specs” and it seems MediaTek’s plans have changed.
- In terms of processing power, here are the expected benchmark scores for the Dimensity 9500:
- AnTuTu: Expected to reach ~3.5 million points, far surpassing Dimensity 9400 (2.44 million points) 56.
- Geekbench: Expected ~21% single-core and 8% multi-core performance improvement over Dimensity 9400
The Dimensity 9500 is expected to launch in mid-2025, giving it a lead over Qualcomm's next flagship chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is rumored to launch in October 2024.
Notably, another leak on the same day revealed that MediaTek is also developing a second Dimensity chip with an “all-big-core” design. Supposedly called the Dimensity 9450, it will share TSMC’s 3nm process. However, details about this chip are still very scarce.
