Google Maps is starting to roll out a feature that marks which lane is the appropriate lane for an upcoming turn along the route, showing other elements like crosswalks and signs.
The feature will be available in 30 major US cities and will be available on Android and iOS this November. It will then gradually roll out to Google Maps worldwide.
With this enhanced navigation feature on Google Maps, driving on new roads becomes easier, through lane guidance and the ability to view your route in 3D.

Google Maps is now getting the first update to the destination guidance feature it introduced in July. Along with highlighting destinations and building entrances, the app will show nearby parking lots, prompt parking locations, and provide walking directions to the building’s front door. Google Maps is expanding its reporting system to include adverse weather conditions that can impact driving, such as poor visibility, fog, flooding, and more.
Alongside these new features, Google is adding more AI capabilities to the app that can help you find new places, while Waze is testing the ability to report incidents using your voice.
