Results of matches in Record of Ragnarok

Record of Ragnarok is an anime about a tournament held to decide the fate of humanity. The gods want to erase the existence of humanity while the Valkyries want to save humanity. That is why Brunhilde - a Valkyrie proposed the Ragnarok tournament between gods and humans to decide this issue.

That's why the 13 strongest human warriors and 13 gods entered the tournament to determine whether humanity is worthy of being saved.

However, after the battle, the gods also got a taste of the divine weapon that humans used, allowing them to not only be on par with the gods, but also kill gods.

In the second match, Adam - the first human in the world entered the battle. Adam was considered the trump card in the tournament because of his special ability. Shiva was originally going to fight Adam, but because of excitement, Zeus took Shiva's place. So we have a battle between the father of gods and the father of men.

Adam possesses a power called Divine Reflexes, which he gained by being a copy of the gods. Because of this, Adam can copy every attack of Zeus, one of the most powerful gods of all time.

Although Adam tied Zeus up, the god used all his strength to win. This gave the gods a 2-0 lead over humanity.

Match 3: Poseidon - Kojiro Sasaki

Round 3 of the Ragnarok tournament is an important round for humanity because humans need to win to truly prove to the gods that they can defeat the gods. Kojiro Sasaki, the greatest loser in history, is the one the Valkyries choose to fight despite the fact that he is always ranked second when it comes to the strongest samurai in history. Meanwhile the gods send Poseidon, who is almost as strong as Zeus.

Poseidon was able to demonstrate his power by using his speed in his fight with Sasaki. However, thanks to the power of the divine weapon, Kojiro was able to overwhelm Poseidon by using a combination of different techniques he had learned from all the samurai he had lost to in the past. Thus, the greatest loser in history won and gave humanity a chance to win against the gods.

Match 4: Hercules - Jack the Ripper

With a victory for the humans, the gods decided to unleash Hercules, one of the strongest heroes in history, a demigod who was originally a human. Meanwhile, Jack the Ripper represented humanity, a man considered to be the most evil in history. This was a battle between good and evil, as some humans even supported Hercules in this battle.

While Jack has no chance of defeating Hercules in a fair fight, he uses his own blood as a divine weapon to kill Hercules and gain a second victory for humanity.

Match 5: Shiva - Raiden Tameemon

With the score tied at two wins apiece, both sides needed a win to boost their morale. In this round, the gods sent Shiva, who had superior strength, and humanity sent Raiden Tameemon, the greatest sumo wrestler of all time. It was a pure brawl between two wrestlers using their bodies as weapons.

Raiden soon gained the upper hand as he was finally able to use his overdeveloped muscles thanks to the power of the Valkyrie named Thrud. However, when Shiva used her Dance of Destruction, the god was able to overwhelm Raiden and decapitate him.

Match 6: Zerofuku - Buddha

The most surprising part of this tournament was when the 6th round was when Buddha announced his participation in the war. However, Buddha did not represent the gods but the humans. Angry at Buddha's betrayal, the Shinto gods united to form Zerofuku, the original version of all the Shinto gods of fortune.

While Buddha allows Zerofuku to become the god of luck once again. Not only that, Beelzebub reveals that he experimented on Zerofuku and turned him into the Demon Lord of the Sixth Heaven, Hajun.

However, Buddha overcame Zerofuku's power by using his Volundr as he was able to use the Great Nirvana Sword – Zero to defeat the demon. This meant that Hajun and the seven lucky Shinto gods died in the battle against Buddha.

Match 7: Hades - Qin Shi Huang

This is considered the round of kings when Hades - the king of hell will fight on behalf of the gods against Qin Shi Huang - the first Emperor of China.

The Chinese emperor used the Valkyrie Alvitr as his divine weapon and cornered Hades. Hades was forced to use Ichor: Desmos, his strongest trump card, to overwhelm Qin Shi Huang.

Undeterred, Qin Shi Huang used his divine weapon - a shapeshifting sword to destroy Desmos and defeat Hades. Qin Shi Huang's victory put humanity ahead of the gods. This was the milestone that marked the gods' anxiety when they were being led by humans.
