MWC 2025 is just around the corner and many leading tech companies are waiting to unveil new technologies. There is a lot to look forward to at this year's event!
What is MWC 2025?
MWC (Mobile World Congress) is one of the biggest technology events of the year, where leading technology companies around the world showcase their latest gadgets, software, and more recently, many innovations in the field of AI. This year's event is held annually in Barcelona, Spain, taking place from March 3 to 6, 2025.
If you're interested in the latest tech – whether it's smartphones, wearables, tablets, laptops or communications tech – and want to know where the industry is headed, MWC is the event to keep an eye on. As usual, many major tech brands will be launching their products at MWC 2025.
Note : Unlike most major tech brands, Samsung and Apple don’t attend MWC, instead holding their own events. However, Google has a booth at the event, mainly showcasing the latest features and updates for Android.
What will Nothing, TCL, Lenovo and Xiaomi bring to MWC 2025?
Among the upcoming news from MWC, there are some prominent tech companies that we should keep an eye on.
Nothing
While Nothing phones aren’t exactly popular, Carl Pei’s brand has really caught on. Last year’s Nothing Phone (2a) Plus was one of the best battery-centric smartphones around, and now the company is set to unveil its next iteration, the Nothing Phone (3a), at MWC 2025.
Nothing has revealed the designs of the two new phones, although their names are still under wraps. They will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which should make them powerful (albeit a generation behind the latest Snapdragon 8 devices). The Nothing Phone 3a's periscope telephoto lens also promises a lot of potential. Nothing's MWC event is scheduled for March 4 at 10:00 GMT.
TCL
TCL, a company known for its affordable smart TVs, has confirmed that it will be introducing its latest products at MWC 2025. TCL introduced the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G at CES 2025 but did not announce a launch date. MWC could be the perfect time for that.
Lenovo
At MWC 2024, Lenovo surprised us with a transparent ThinkBook concept laptop. This year, the company is back with a booth at MWC, and tech leaker Evan Blass believes we’ll see a new Magic concept that adds up to two additional screens in addition to the main display. Lenovo is also rumored to be showing off a solar-powered Yoga concept laptop.
Xiaomi
In addition to selling smartphones, Xiaomi is also a big name in tablets and fitness trackers. In 2024, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was launched and was rated as one of the best phones at MWC 2024. This year, Xiaomi will launch its successor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, on March 2, 2025.
Like previous Ultra models, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra focuses more on the camera. It's exciting to see how it performs in real-world use.
Some other notable brands at MWC: Honor, Tecno, Realme, etc.
In addition to the four brands mentioned above, there will be a lot of other smartphone manufacturers and tech companies at MWC 2025. Honor will showcase its “Alpha Plan,” highlighting new AI innovations and products. The company is also expected to unveil a multi-device connection solution that allows seamless sharing with iOS devices.
Tecno introduced a number of laptops, smartphones and concept devices at MWC 2024. This year, the company will be back to launch the upgraded CAMON 40 smartphone and introduce new features in its AI ecosystem – including some pretty cool AI glasses that many tech enthusiasts are looking forward to trying out. Other brands like Realme, ZTE and HMD are also launching new devices, while MediaTek and Qualcomm will be at the show to showcase their latest innovations in AI and on-device communications.
Many are particularly interested to see how MediaTek's new Dimensity 7400 and 7400X SoCs stack up against Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite - it's an exciting time for smartphone chipsets. Interestingly, MediaTek will also be launching its 5G-Advanced M90 modem at MWC 2025, which will enable satellite communications and peak download speeds of up to 12Gbps!
