So, why don't people put a light in the freezer to make it easier to find things like in the refrigerator?
In fact, the fact that the freezer compartment of the refrigerator does not have a light is intentional by the manufacturers. Their reason is very simple: to balance the cost and profit in designing the refrigerator with the user's freezer usage habits.
Users rarely open the freezer, sometimes only a few times a day, sometimes not at all. Meanwhile, the number of times they open the refrigerator compartment to get things is a lot, maybe more than ten times a day to get food and drinks... Some people even open the refrigerator compartment just to look around because they are bored.
Meanwhile, the cost of installing an automatic lighting mechanism for the freezer compartment will be as expensive as an automatic light in the refrigerator compartment. This means that a part of the production cost will be doubled.
Therefore, the manufacturer decided not to install lights in the freezer to minimize production costs and product prices.
However, you can still own a refrigerator with a freezer light. Freezer lights are available in high-end refrigerators and you just have to pay more than a regular refrigerator.
