Why is Samsung Calendar the best calendar app today?
A calendar app doesn't have to be special to be useful. But there are a few reasons people stick with the built-in Samsung Calendar on their Galaxy phones.
The beauty of a good layout
Good design is very important. If some parts of your app don't fit, people won't use it - even if they want to.
When you open Samsung Calendar, you’ll be impressed by how Samsung presents monthly, weekly, and daily views in an efficient way, no matter what size screen you’re using. No matter what screen you’re looking at, Samsung Calendar feels like a natural fit.

Like Google Calendar, there’s also a Schedule view that shows your upcoming events in a single list. This is a quick way to scroll back and see what’s happened recently and what’s coming up in the coming days.
The way Samsung Calendar opens event details in a pop-up window when using the phone's internal display or DeX, rather than the entire app window, is impressive. You can then close the event by tapping anywhere outside the pop-up window rather than having to hunt for the X icon in the top corner.
Switch flexibly between different views
Many people lost interest in Google Calendar years ago. Since then, they’ve largely switched to Proton Calendar (one of Proton’s privacy-focused alternatives to Google apps). However, you won’t want to open the Proton Calendar app again after experiencing the speed at which it switches between views in Samsung Calendar.
All you need to do is swipe up or down and you can switch between all three main views.
Similarly, you can move from one day's event to the next by swiping left or right.
Unless you are a heavy calendar user, you don’t need to sync with multiple people and have the option to invite people to appointments. The most important thing is the ease of seeing and navigating what’s going on in your life.
If you're a more advanced calendar user, you might want to try managing your schedule with Notion .
Create new events quickly
Samsung Calendar has won over users not only because of the ease of viewing events, but also because of the speed with which events can be created. There’s a field at the bottom that looks like a search window where you can type in an event to get started. You can enter a name including the time, and the app will take care of the rest.
In both Proton Calendar and Google Calendar, you have to create an event and manually enter each field of details. You also have this option in Samsung Calendar, but you don't need to use it much.
Integrate with other applications
Many people use Samsung Reminder as their to-do list app, mainly because it integrates with both the Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Watch. The integration with Samsung Calendar is also great.
Tasks will appear on your calendar when they are due, so when you check your day's events, you'll also see tasks that need to be completed that day.
Your relationship with Samsung Calendar will be similar to my relationship with Samsung Gallery and the Samsung My Files file manager. These aren’t just mandatory phone apps that are provided to provide essential functionality. They’re actually powerful pieces of software that you’ll enjoy more than most alternatives. People buy Samsung phones for a variety of reasons, one of which is the software Samsung offers.
