Zoo Tycoon 2 1.0 - 3D zoo management game

Version Zoo Tycoon 1 is a very successful game commercially with many new ideas. In the new version, the game is invested by Blue Fang Games and Microsoft to improve almost every aspect, creating a game with stunning graphics and very attractive gameplay structure.

The first big change of Zoo Tycoon 2 is that the game is completely implemented in 3D and as a result the game has a very attractive form. You can edit the terrain to add mountains, hills, valleys ... all with just a few simple prototyping tools. The flora and fauna are also wonderfully animated, with animals moving like the real thing, flowers and plants full of life, even when you look up close.

Visitors are designed with less detail, but very diverse in age, gender, race. In particular, when each visitor buys something at the zoo, you will find them carrying them, whether it's ice cream cone bought from a soft drink or a backpack with peacock feathers at the souvenir shop. This attention to detail is truly impressive.

Another benefit of the game Zoo Tycoon 2 obtained when switching to 3D environment is that players can go to the zoo in a first-person perspective and walk here and there. You can even try the staff's job, such as cleaning and feeding animals, collecting trash ...

The first person also lets you use the camera to take pictures. The only problem with the 3D camera is that it is limited in the panoramic view. You can zoom, rotate and move, but you can't tilt the camera to a position you like. Though it's a minor dissatisfaction, it's surprising that this elaborate game lacks that feature.

The sound of Zoo Tycoon 2 is not as impressive as the graphics. It was just a collection of the ambiguous voices of tourists, the voices of them cheering for the animals, and the sounds of the crowd. Music is completely absent in the game, except in the menu system.

Zoo Tycoon 2 has 3 game modes. You can choose Free Form to play with all available items, with no time limit or money problem. If all you want is to be a park or zoo researcher, then you should choose this mode. Chalenge mode offers a limited amount of money and meager equipment for you.

You must work hard to improve the situation. The more famous your zoo is, the more new items you will get. In Campaign mode, you are taken through a series of themed levels. Both last modes allow you to unlock special rewards, of which the most impressive are the animals and environments divided by geographic area. Zoo Tycoon 2 is not too difficult. Finding a way to make money effectively is quite simple. And if you follow the recipe, you will always have the money. Monetization strategy is very clear. You cannot set prices for food, drinks and other businesses except to set them at one of the three levels of high, medium and low (high, medium and low). The animal also needs very little care if you have enough staff.

Even the most difficult levels in Campaign mode, which require you to set up a zoo with animals from 9 different ecosystems, are simply waiting for money to be accumulated in the system. This leads to another problem: not speeding up time in game. Some levels require you to create exhibits before a certain deadline.

You can easily pause the game, design the exhibition space and spend most of the rest of the time waiting. Since you already have a pet babysitter and cleaner, you don't even need to be at the computer. Once, while I was waiting to get my investment back, I gave up that computer and went out for 20 minutes. When he returned, the expected amount was in the account, and the animals were safe.

In general, Zoo Tycoon 2 is a pretty good game for teenagers and inexperienced players. The game is stable, has almost no bugs and is easy to control so it will probably appeal to kids. For those who have played the game for a long time, the game showed too few strategic elements.

In the past, when it comes to the zoo, we immediately envision the iron cots on the cold concrete floor surrounding poor ragged animals. That situation has changed a lot and large, beautiful zoos that simulate the wild have replaced the iron cot one after another. Hopefully one day we will have such zoos as well. Now, please be temporarily satisfied with Zoo Tycoon 2.
