First aid and treatment for children with intestinal obstruction
Usually if the child is taken to the hospital in time, the doctor will give the baby first aid. There are 2 treatments for a child's intestinal obstruction as follows:
Option 1: Use the method of pushing the blocked intestine out of the stopper through the child's anus. Your doctor will use an enema or a gas, barium as a propulsion. If the large intestine is opened and the intestinal obstruction is lifted, surgery is not needed. Most patients recover and eat again after 1-2 days.
Method 2: Surgery to open the abdomen. The doctor will use your hands to push and push the blocked intestines back to normal. In cases where the intestine has been necrotic or ruptured (rarely), the rotten part may be required. Then the intestines will be joined together. For patients who have to resort to this approach, the treatment will be more difficult and time consuming. Some children even have additional complications from this intestinal obstruction.
