Video Create 2-layer security of Google accounts without phone numbers
Instead of using a phone number to create two-layer security of Google accounts , now computer users have another option that is equally safe and convenient, which is to use Google Authenticator.
Google Authenticator is a versatile security application for all types of Google accounts. Computer users can download and install Google Authenticator on their phones and use this app to create and validate two-step security for their Google accounts without using the previous phone number.
Step 2: If you're not already logged in, you'll need to sign in to your Google account, but if you're already logged in, select 2-Step Verification.
Step 3 : At this point, you will need to log in to your Google account again.
Step 4: In the new interface, left-click on Set up in Google Authenticator app.
Step 5 : Select the phone operating system where you have installed Google Authenticator, then Next . If not, you can go to Apple or Android app stores to download Google Authenticator to your device and then continue with the next operation.
After the above operation, the computer screen will appear a QR code as below, you need to use your phone and scan the code to identify your account. Scan finished, click Next to switch to the interface to enter the verification code.
Step 6: Open the phone and access the Google Authenticator application , select Scan barcode (if used for the first time).
And if you have ever used, select the plus symbol (+) and select Scan barcode (previously needed to give Google Authenticator permission to access the device's Camera).
Scan the QR code just received in step 5 then wait a few seconds for the application to create a code of 6 random number characters (image below).
Step 7 : Go back to the computer screen interface, enter that code into Set up Authenticator , select Verify .
If successful, the following message will appear, click Done to close this window.
Finally, you will see that your two-factor authentication section has been installed with the Google Authenticator app.
If you try to log out and log back in to this account, you will see that the normal two-factor authentication message was a little different.
ATTENTION:
Keep in mind that these authentication codes change every 30 seconds.
When the new code is sent, it will be green, and when the code turns red, the time is up and about to change.
Red turning codes sometimes won't work.
Look at the countdown timer in the bottom corner to see the code's validity period.
From now on every time you log in to your Google account, you don't need to wait for the confirmation message or phone call to your phone like before, you can access the Google Authenticator app on your device to get codes and sign in without having a problem. What subject.
