According to university admission regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2023, candidates with a total score of less than 22.5 will not have any changes in regional priority scores and subject priority scores.
However, according to the new university priority score calculation regulations, candidates who score 22.5 or higher (when converted to scores on a scale of 10 and the maximum total score of 3 subjects is 30), the priority score will gradually decrease.
How to calculate university priority points in 2023
Formula for calculating university priority points:
The priority score the candidate receives = [(30 - total score achieved by the candidate)/7.5] x total priority score as determined normally.
In particular, the priority score applied to area 1 is 0.75 points, rural area 2 is 0.5, area 2 is 0.25; Area 3 is not given priority points. This change in priority scoring is intended to create fairness between groups of candidates from different regions and subjects.
In case a candidate scores 30 on the exam, the priority score is 0. This will avoid the phenomenon of previous years where candidates scored more than 30 points.
