If you are using a Windows PC system with a multi-monitor setup, or an external monitor with your laptop and launch a game, sometimes the game may appear on the screen you don't want it to. This article will show you how to move a game from one screen to another in Windows with just a few simple steps.
Change the landing screen in game
Most modern games are designed to support multi-monitor PC setups well. This means you can find in-game settings options that let you specify which monitor will be the default target display for the game.
Usually, you will find this option in the game's “ video ” settings , or possibly in the “ graphics ” section, as shown in the illustration below.

Use shortcut keys
Windows has a common keyboard shortcut for moving an app from one screen to another. Just hold down Windows + Shift + Left Arrow or Right Arrow . This will move the active app on the screen to the left or right side of the current screen, depending on which arrow key you press.
Temporarily turn off a screen
Usually, using the above shortcut keys is not 100% successful. So try temporarily turning off a screen that you don't want the game to display on.
Press Windows + P and you will see a menu with different display options.

Here, you can choose to display the desktop on one monitor, copy it to both monitors, or extend the desktop across existing monitors. Select the option that corresponds to the monitor you want the game to appear on, and the other monitor will dim.
After you're done playing, just use the shortcut above to reactivate the off screen.
Specify the main screen
When you have multiple monitors, Windows designates one of them as the primary display. Applications will open on the primary display. You can decide which display is your primary display.
Right-click on the desktop and select Display Settings .

Scroll until you see a diagram of your connected displays. Select the display you want to be your primary display.

Click on the box marked “ Make This My Main Display ”. Then click apply and try launching the game again.
Here are some simple tips to help you move games from one screen to another on Windows. Good luck!
