Commenting on the issue, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said AI will not completely replace humans, but in some areas, the technology can be 1,000 times more productive than traditional workers.
AI won’t be able to do everything we do. But depending on the specific task, it can do it 1,000 times better than us. It’s a story of productivity and usability.
The NVIDIA chief's view is also shared by industry experts. AI will replace some of our jobs, at least in segments where the technology does not require human dependence to operate.
In manufacturing, for example, an average robot can do the work of 5.6 people. Not only that, robots are threatening human positions more than artificial intelligence (AI). From the development of self-driving cars, smart homes, smart assistants to AI that can come up with cancer treatment plans by analyzing medical history, genetics and medical documents, AI is penetrating almost every field and reducing the need for humans in the world.
Another interesting fact Jensen Huang mentioned is that people who don’t know how to leverage the power of AI to improve their work efficiency will eventually be replaced by people who know how to apply the automation capabilities of AI. The CEO previously announced that his company is working on using “100 million” AI assistants in its operations, with a workforce of up to 50,000 people.
