There's nothing you can do to increase your chances of becoming an Impostor in Among Us
The chance of you becoming an Impostor in Among Us is described like this on the Wiki: The chance of a player becoming an Impostor in Among Us is 100 multiplied by the number of impostors divided by the number of players.
In general, there is no way to proactively become an Impostor in Among Us. You can only increase your chances of becoming an Impostor by creating your own rooms with options like 3 Crewmates - 1 Impostor (4-person room) or 5 Crewmates - 2 Impostors (7-person room) or 6 Crewmates - 3 Impostors (9-person room) .

Why do impostors in Among Us need to be randomly selected?
If the Impostor wasn't randomly selected in Among Us, it would be completely predictable for players to know who the Impostor was. This would essentially ruin the game and not be entertaining for anyone, least of all those who were labeled as Impostors.
Imagine how much less fun the game would be if the party only had a few simple reasons for choosing who the impostor would be and were less likely to choose Impostors based on inferences based on what had happened in the scenario.
Every player needs to be cleared of suspicion right from the start of the game because we have nothing to pay attention to yet. All Crewmates need to pay attention to all the actions of other players, then piece together the events that happen and that is the weapon to fight against the Impostors.

You may feel frustrated and miss out on interesting gameplay just because of the random selection of who is the Impostor in Among Us. And I'm sure you've seen a lot of people give up right after the game starts just because they can't be the Impostor.
However, you should avoid doing the same yourself. Think about it, if you're not willing to be a crewmate, why should other players be Crewmates when you're an Impostor?
