Zoom online learning software allows you to share your screen on computers, Macs, tablets and mobile devices iOS, Android.

Host and participants can share the screen by clicking the Share Screen icon .

Hosts do not need to grant screen sharing permission to participants to share their screens.

But the Host may prevent participants from sharing the screen.

Step 1 : Click the Share Screen button located in the control section.

Step 2 :

Select the screen you want to share: Users can choose an individual application opened on a computer, desktop, whiteboard or iPhone, iPad.

Step 3 : (Optional) Activate the features:

Share Computer Sound : If you select this option, all audio coming from the computer will be shared during the online meeting.

Optimize for full screen video clip : If you select this option, you share a video clip in full screen mode. However, it may make the sharing screen dim.

Click Share .

Step 4 : Zoom will automatically switch to full screen to optimize the shared screen view. To exit full screen, click Exit Full Screen in the upper right corner or press the Esc key .

Note : To turn off the automatic opening of full screen when sharing is enabled, turn this option off in the client settings: Enter full screen automatically when a participant shares screen.

When you start to share the screen menu, the controls are moved to a menu that you can drag to move it anywhere on the screen.

The control buttons in Zoom

Mute / Unmute : Mute or unmute your microphone.

Start / Stop Video : Start or stop the video during the meeting.

Participants / Manage Participants : View or manage participants (if you are a host).

New Share : Start a new screen share. You will be prompted to choose which screen type you want to share.

Pause Share : Pause your current screen sharing.

Annotate / Whiteboard : Display whiteboard with annotation tools for drawing, adding text ...

Chat : Opens the chat window.

Invite : Invite others to join

Record : Record to your computer or to the cloud.

Allow / Disable participants annotation : Allow / prevent participants from annotating on shared screens.

Show / Hide Names of Annotators : Show / Hide the names of participants when annotating on the sharing screen. 

Live on Workplace by Facebook : Share meetings or webinars on Workplace by Facebook.

Optimize Share for Full-screen Video Clip : Optimize a video clip in full screen mode.
Note : Do not turn on this setting if you do not share the video clip in full screen because it will dim the screen you are sharing.

End Meeting : Leave the meeting or end the meeting with all participants (if you are the host).

Use dual screen in Zoom

If you're using the dual monitor setup, you can turn on the Use Dual Monitors feature to see two screens in parallel, one showing the participants, the other being the screen you share.

Note : On Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, you need to allow Zoom to access screen recording to share the screen. How to: System Preferences> Security & Privacy> Privacy> Screen Recording . Check the Zoom.us option .

With Zoom on Android, you can share content or screens.

Note:

Some of these options may be turned off in your account settings, under Integrations .

You cannot share device audio. For example, if the phone is playing a video, the video audio is not shared.

To share screens, you need Android 5.0 or higher.

Step 1 : Click Share in the control section.

Step 2 : Select the type of content you want to share.

Step 3 : Tap one of the options:

Photos : Share photos from a file manager or photo app ( Google Photos ). Depending on the application installed on the device, you will see different sharing options.

Documents : Select a PDF file or image stored in the device to share it.

Box , Dropbox , Google Drive , Microsoft OneDrive, or Microsoft OneDrive for Business : Choose a file to share from the selected file sharing service. You need to grant permission for Zoom to access the account. Only support PDF files or images.

Website URL : Enter the URL to open the browser and share the website.

Bookmarks : Share bookmarks stored in Zoom.

Share Whiteboard : Share a whiteboard for you to draw and annotate.

You can share your entire screen, including any apps on Android devices.

Step 1 : Click Share in the control.

Step 2 : Click Screen > click Start Now .

Step 3 : The sharing screen starts and Zoom continues to run in the background. You can now choose the applications you want to share.

Step 4 : At the bottom of the screen, click Annotate to open the annotation tools or click Stop Share to stop sharing and return to control the meeting.

For example, if you choose Google Drive, it will display a series of shareable documents. Select what you want and click Share in the upper right corner.

Zoom allows sharing of iOS screens from iPhones and iPads using the Zoom application on a computer. You can share wirelessly for both Mac and PC using the iOS Screen mirroring method or connect iOS to a computer with a cable.

You can also share your entire iOS screen with Screen Recording on iOS 11 or later. Reference: Video recording screen iPhone, iPad without software installation

Note: Some videos cannot be shared when you use Screen Recording.

Install plug-in to share iPhone, iPad.

Network and computer firewall allow access to Airplay.

You will be prompted to download the first time when you choose to share your iOS device via Airplayer or manually download via: Download AirPlayer .

Step 4: Click Share Screen. If prompted, choose to install the plug-in.

Step 5: Follow the instructions to connect the iOS device.

Note: Cable connection method works only with Macs.

Note: You cannot comment when sharing the entire screen via iOS.
