Women often have prejudice about jealous mothers who "disrupt" their married life. Mother-in-law either clings to her son all the time or wants to take control of his life every minute. So what is the way to treat mother-in-law?

But you can help her take on the role of a mother by letting her husband spend more time with her. Schedule mother and child together, and encourage them to eat together. You do not need to join them.

If you don't live in the same city as your mother-in-law , you might encourage your husband to call her once or twice a week.

If he's busy, perhaps take the initiative to remind them. This will help to remove the mother's insecurities, and that is the right way to treat her.

2. Be proactive first

Whether you like it or not, your reaction can ease the tension between you two.

Remember that relationships are always a two-way street, and sometimes we get what we give away.

You can respect your mother-in-law, but that may not be enough to make the two of you closer.

Talking frankly will confuse the other person, and maybe your mother-in-law will not share with you more than expected.

 4. Be more considerate of your mother-in-law
