Windows 11 has finally arrived with many useful additions while also removing some features. Below are the features that will no longer be available in Windows 11 .
The feature is no longer available on Windows 11
Internet Explorer
Microsoft will finally remove the once legendary Internet Explorer from Windows 11 . Previously, Microsoft announced the end of support for Internet Explorer on Windows 10 20H2 at the end of 2022. However, if you are still using Windows 8/8.1, you can still use this proprietary Microsoft browser.
Although Windows 11 officially no longer integrates Internet Explorer as a separate browser, it will still be available as part of IE Mode in Microsoft Edge.
Cortana
Microsoft never really achieved its intended goals when developing Cortana. And with Windows 11, Microsoft will eventually stop Cortana from working for all users.
Windows 11 will no longer include Cortana in the first startup experience or pin the Cortana icon to the taskbar. However, it will still be available as a separate Windows app with similar functionality to the Windows 10 Cortana app.
Tablet Mode
If you're a desktop user, chances are you've never heard of tablet mode. However, when enabled on a Windows tablet, Tablet Mode will change the Windows 10 user interface to be more tablet-friendly.
Although tablet mode is indeed outdated on Windows 11, Microsoft has confirmed it will improve functionality for keyboardless touch devices on Windows 11.
Quick Status
On Windows 10, Quick Status lets you see upcoming notifications from selected apps right on the lock screen. Unfortunately, Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 no longer includes Quick Status. However, many people hope for the return of desktop widgets on Windows 11 to have similar functionality to the removed Quick Status.
The Start menu is editable
The Start menu in Windows 10 is flexible and customizable. However, on Windows 11, that will no longer be the case.
Microsoft moved the Start menu to the center of the desktop in Windows 11, but you can still reposition it. Besides, you cannot adjust the size of the Start menu in Windows 11. Currently, the only way to adjust the taskbar is to tweak the Windows Registry.
However, you will still be able to pin apps and websites directly on the Start menu.
Change the taskbar
Windows 11 includes many changes in the overall user interface, and the taskbar redesign is a notable upgrade. The Windows 11 taskbar can now only be positioned on the screen. The People icon has been removed. Individual applications can no longer customize the taskbar. Some icons on the Windows 10 system tray have disappeared in Windows 11.
Remove some default applications
Microsoft has announced that it will not pre-install 3D viewer, OneNote for Windows 10, Paint 3D and Skype on Windows 11. Instead, users can download them through the Store. These default apps will still be available for users upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 .
Windows 11 is finally available to global users. Right now, if your PC meets the configuration requirements, you can easily update to this latest Windows operating system. To know whether your computer can be upgraded to Win 11 or not, you can refer to the TPM checking instructions on WebTech360.
