On Windows 11 , the default browser Edge is rated quite well in terms of performance and speed. However, if you want to change the default browser for some reason, please refer to the article below to know how.
Instructions for changing the default browser on Windows 11
To change the default browser, first you need to access the Default apps section by clicking Start -> Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps or pressing the Windows + I key combination to quickly access Settings later. Then select App -> Default apps. In the Default apps window, search for the browser you want to set as default in the Set default for applications box then click on it (For example Firefox, Chrome, Opera...).
After selecting the application, you will see a window with information about the file types and browsers currently used for them ( .htm, .html, .pdf... ). All of these file types default to Microsoft Edge.
You will need to click on each of these formats to open them with the browser you want, then click the OK button .
A confirmation dialog box appears, select Switch anyway . We need to repeat this operation until the end of the file list.
After successfully changing everything to your preferred browser, you are done. Changing the default browser on Windows 11 is a bit complicated, perhaps because Microsoft intentionally does so to entice users to use their default browser Edge. Currently Windows 11 is still in beta stage and we should expect the official version of Windows 11 to be more user friendly.
Wishing you success!
