What is Photo Shuffle on iOS 16?
Photo Shuffle on iOS 16 allows users to create a list of wallpapers that can be used as a lock screen as well as a Home Screen. Users can select a series of photos from the library, then iOS will mix them at intervals of the user's choosing.
You can set a specific amount of time after iOS applies a new wallpaper or customize Photo Shuffle to set a new background every time you "wake" your iPhone from sleep mode or every time you touch the Lock Screen.
You can do all of the above without losing other features on the lock screen on iPhone using iOS 16. You can turn on/off Depth, Perspective Zoom, change clock color or style, and widgets at any time.
How to create Photo Shuffle for the lock screen on iPhone
Method 1: From the lock screen
To create Photo Shuffle on iOS 16:
1. Unlock iPhone but don't leave Lock Screen.
2. Touch and hold anywhere on the lock screen until it is minimized.
3. Click the icon +in the lower right corner.
4. In the Add New Wallpaper menu, select Photo Shuffle at the top.
5. Now you can see the photo gallery appear on the screen. Here, tap the photo you want to add to Shuffle .
6. After selecting a photo, tap Add in the top right corner.
iOS will now let you preview some photos on the screen. You can touch anywhere to mix the photos.
By default, you will see a wallpaper in its natural color. You can switch the background image to monochrome mode by swiping to the left of the screen.
The black and white version of the photo will look like this.
After making all the necessary changes to Photo Shuffle, tap Done in the top right corner to apply them.
You will see one of the selected images appear on the lock screen.
Depending on how you set them up, the phone will switch between photos after a certain amount of time.
Method 2: From Settings
1. On iOS 16, open Settings > Wallpaper > tap Add New Wallpaper .
2. In the Add New Wallpaper menu that appears, select Photo Shuffle .
3. Now follow the same steps as in method 1, starting after opening this add new wallpaper section to mix the background image for the lock screen and home screen.
How to adjust photo shuffle time of Photo Shuffle on iOS 16
1. Unlock iPhone without leaving Lock Screen, then touch & hold anywhere.
2. After minimizing the lock screen, tap Customize below.
3. You can touch the screen to change the current wallpaper. To change the frequency of Photo Shuffle, tap the 3-dot icon in the lower right corner.
In the menu that appears, select Shuffle Frequency . You have 4 options to change the background image for the lock and main screen on iPhone as follows:
- Daily - After 24 hours per day.
- Hourly - Once every hour.
- On Wake - When waking iPhone from sleep mode.
- On Tap - When touching the lock screen.
